Spotlight: New York From Above, by Ross Dahmen

Anytime I’m in an airplane flying back to New York from time elsewhere, I love seeing the buildings, the parks, and the cars passing below.  Viewing New York from above helps me appreciate just how big this city is and how each of its residents plays a small role in making it the best city in the world.  I bought a drone to recreate that feeling of being in an airplane and getting to see the different corners of the city.  Initially, I focused solely on the city’s beautiful basketball courts but lately I have been adding to those shots, whether it’s the city’s skyline, surrounding buildings, or changing colors of the trees.
